How to convert Simpsons 2 player Jamma Arcade Game to 2 player NBA Jam arcade?

I have a 2 player cabinet that was converted for the Simpsons arcade game. It has 2 joysticks and 2 buttons for each player. I want to convert it to NBA Jam but don't know how. I've been looking around and it seems that both Simpsons and NBA Jam are jamma so it should just be a swap and play, but the problem I have is: 1. Do I need to buy a special NBA Jam jamma board for 2 player or do I just buy the regular pcb? 2. NBA Jam requires three buttons per player, so if my wire harness only has connections for 2 buttons, how do I add a third button for NBA Jam? Will the NBA jam pcb come with its own wire harness that has connections for 3 buttons? Sorry for being such a noob. Thanks!
